Based in Chicago, GreenChoice Bank will be the first "green" community bank in the Midwest. Sustainability will drive every aspect of the bank's organization: LEED-certified branch construction (with our initial location at the Green Exchange), minimal waste in back office operations through paperless processes, online banking and e-statements, and deposit and lending products that reward our customers for their sustainable choices. Above all, we will bring a strong focus on supporting the local community and the sustainable business community. Through these efforts, we will be providing Chicagoans with the opportunity to make a values-based choice of where they bank.

With initial funding from a very strong group of local business leaders, we are currently going through the regulatory approval process and raising the additional capital necessary to obtain the Bank’s charter, with a targeted open date in mid-2009.
