One of California’s coastal gems, San Diego is a seaside city with beautiful beaches, wine country nearby, mountains in the background, and Mexico just down the road. Surfers, cyclists, hikers, fishermen, divers, joggers, sailors, golfers, tennis players and other outdoor activists flock here for the year-round sunshine, the balmy climate and the all-around good living. Not surprisingly, the green awareness is rising here. The county has established sustainable building guidelines and incentives to reduce carbon emissions, and a major sustainability conference sold out last year.
