Blue Bag Recycling

Illinois
United States
If you live in a single-family home or a two-, three, or four-flat building, and your garbage is picked up by the Department of Streets and Sanitation, you can participate in the Blue Bag Recycling program. Set aside used glass, metal and plastic containers and rinse out any remaining food, drink or other product. Remove bottle caps, and, if you can, flatten metal and plastic containers to save space. You don't need to peel off labels. Also, set aside paper and cardboard materials that haven't been spoiled by food or liquids.
Blue bags are sold at grocery, drug, and hardware stores.
